Description
Farm leadership role with mentoring and backup Supportive team culture, modern systems, and clear expectations Great benefits, quality housing, and room to grow your career Located just 10 mins from Taupō - this is your chance to lead a high-performing organic dairy farm - THE OPPORTUNITY As Farm Manager at Pāmu’s Earnslaw Organic Dairy, you’ll have the trust and autonomy to run the farm well, lead your team, and make decisions that genuinely matter. This is a role where your experience and judgement are valued, and where you can make a real difference. You’ll bring a foundation (or strong interest in organic farming) coupled with your experience managing a farm or leading teams to continue lifting performance through thoughtful leadership, sound judgement, and a practical understanding of stock and pasture management. This is a hands‑on leadership role that suits someone who enjoys being involved in day‑to‑day farming while also thinking ahead and shaping how things are done. You’ll have real influence over farm performance, both financially and environmentally, and over the culture and way the team works together. You’ll be supported by an experienced Business Manager, your farm team, and Pāmu’s wider specialist support across HR, finance, sustainability, communications, organic compliance support, and health and safety. That means you’re never on your own - expert advice is there when you need it, so you can focus on running the operation, planning ahead, and supporting your people. We use tools like Farmax and FarmIQ to support good decision-making - experience with these or similar tools is helpful, and training is provided. THE FARM Earnslaw Organic Dairy began its organic conversion in 2016 and has continued to strengthen its systems and performance ever since. Located less than 10 minutes from Taupō, the farm milks 800 cows through a 54-bale rotary shed. With over 65% of the platform irrigated, the system is well set up to deliver consistent pasture growth through drier periods. The runoff for this farm backs onto the dairy farm, giving you hands-on involvement with youngstock and winter grazing. The area offers excellent schooling options and a welcoming local community, with a school bus at the gate and easy access to a wide range of outdoor and recreational activities. ABOUT YOU You’re motivated, capable, and take pride in doing a good job. You enjoy leading people and building a team culture where everyone feels safe, supported, and able to perform at their best. You set high standards, take ownership, and work hard to get the best from your farm and your people. You’re confident making decisions and following them through, while also knowing when to ask for advice and use the support available to you. You will also have: Experience or a strong interest in organic farming Proven experience managing a farm or leading teams to uplift farm performance Experience leading, mentoring, or supporting others on farm Strong knowledge of animal health, milk quality, and effluent management A clear commitment to health and safety and animal welfare Good communication skills and a calm, practical approach to problem-solving We’re proud to have a supportive and inclusive culture at Pāmu. If this role sounds like a good fit for you, but you don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply. BENEFITS We care about your wellbeing - that’s why we offer health and life insurance, enhanced parental leave benefits, and up to 4% KiwiSaver matching as part of a competitive salary package. You’ll also receive an extra day of leave over Christmas, along with ongoing training and development to help you thrive. The role comes with a modern four-bedroom home.
