POSITION SUMMARY:

The Farm Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Graton Resort & Casino (GRC) Farm and its newly acquired garden. This role works in close partnership with GRC’s culinary team to develop and implement a crop production plan that supplies the property with fresh, high-quality produce. A key focus is collaborating with venue chefs to grow specialty crops tailored to the resort’s upscale dining experiences.
Beyond day-to-day management, the Farm Manager also leads the strategic planning and development of the farm, supporting future initiatives such as a local farm stand, event space, and broader business growth opportunities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum of 10 years management in culinary or agriculture
  2. Bachelor’s degree in agriculture science or AOS in culinary with Chef experience working in a Michelin Start restaurant.
  3. Experience working with a Tribal Government operated business.
  4. Must obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.
  5. Must be able to interact with others and maintain a positive and professional demeanor under
    frequently fast-paced work conditions.
  6. Current and valid driver’s license

Responsibilities
  1. Responsible for redefining hospitality at Graton Resort & Casino while living, supporting, and promoting our values.
  2. Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.
  3. Directly oversees daily agricultural operations including the oversight of farming contractors, ensuring deliverables are met with in agreed timeline and within budget.
  4. Directs and/or performs farm work including planting, weeding, watering, compositing, fertilization, and general plant tending in line with seasonal needs and regenerative organic practices.
  5. Works with GRC culinary to establish annual crop needs, in conjunction with creating a crop plan with farm contractor.
  6. Ensures implementation of ecologically friendly farming practices and seeks to make the program more sustainable.
  7. Ensures compliance with food safety, integrated pest management, environmental protection and other polices.
  8. Maintains logs for pest control fertilizer inputs, and harvest records. Creating SOPs for harvest
    handling, transport, and kitchen receiving.
  9. Responsible for scheduling maintenance for farm equipment and facilities on a regular basis to ensure safe condition and the upkeep of the land.
  10. Responsible for creating the farm budget and maintaining the budget.
  11. Fully responsible for the development of farmland as land becomes available. This includes working with consultants to establish the design and executing the development of the farm to ensure the maximum growth of crops, herbs, and flowers.
