We are seeking an experienced, practical Farm Manager to oversee the safe, efficient, and productive day-to-day operation of our farm in Mylor, South Australia.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who understands farming from the ground up. You'll be comfortable managing people, machinery, livestock and/or cropping activities, property maintenance and completing seasonal priorities while working closely with the Business Owner.

The Role

As Farm Manager, you will coordinate and oversee daily farming activities while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and coordinating daily and seasonal farm activities
• Overseeing livestock, cropping, irrigation, pasture, fencing and general property maintenance as applicable
• Supervising farm employees, casual workers and contractors
• Allocating work and providing practical guidance to the team
• Monitoring productivity, animal health, crop performance, water use and general farm conditions
• Managing the safe operation and maintenance of farm machinery, vehicles, tools and equipment
• Coordinating servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs
• Maintaining farm infrastructure including sheds, yards, fencing, pumps, irrigation and water systems
• Monitoring farm supplies including fuel, chemicals, feed, seed, fertiliser and parts
• Maintaining appropriate farm and operational records
• Supporting WHS, biosecurity, animal welfare, environmental and other compliance requirements.

You'll also work with the Business Owner on budgeting, resource planning, purchasing, cost control and identify opportunities to improve farm efficiency and long-term productivity.

About You

We are looking for someone who brings strong practical farming experience together with the ability to lead people and take ownership of daily operations. Ideally, you will have:

• Demonstrated experience in farming, livestock, cropping, mixed farming, horticulture, irrigation or a similar agricultural environment
• Previous experience supervising employees, contractors or small operational teams
• Strong knowledge of farm machinery, equipment and property maintenance
• Good mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills
• A strong understanding of safe farming practices and WHS requirements
• The ability to plan ahead and manage changing priorities
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Sound judgement and the confidence to make operational decisions
• A current Australian driver’s licence
• Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends and seasonal peak periods when required.

The following would be advantageous:

• Qualifications in agriculture, agribusiness, farm management, animal husbandry, horticulture or a related discipline
• ChemCert or equivalent chemical handling accreditation
• Heavy vehicle, forklift, loader or other relevant machinery licences/tickets
• Current First Aid certification
• Experience using farm management software, GPS, irrigation technology or digital record-keeping systems
• Knowledge of biosecurity, animal welfare, environmental management or quality assurance systems.
