An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our busy Farm Sales team in Sedgemoor, Bridgwater. This is a full-time, permanent role working Monday – Friday with some occasional opportunities to work at our busy Saturday livestock market.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Previous rural experience (desirable).
  • Exceptional computer skills.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

You can expect to fulfil a very varied role within our Farm Sales team with no one day being the same. You will assist the team with both live and deadstock sales at Sedgemoor Auction Centre, online and on our client’s premises. Duties will include securing, procuring, preparing for and staging auctions. Customer service is key to everything we do at GTH and this role will involve regular contact with our clients both face to face and electronically. There will be an opportunity to develop your auctioneering skills too.

SPECIFIC TASKS INCLUDE:

  • Becoming a key member of our Farm sales team at Sedgemoor Auction Centre. Regularly travel will be required to client’s premises.
  • Attending client’s premises, liaising with Vendors in person and on the telephone/electronically.
  • Supporting the Managing Partner with the day-to-day operation of our busy Farm Sales Department. This will include use of Newline software (front and back-office systems), using MS packages, producing catalogues & adverts, answering the telephone and responding to email enquiries.
  • Procuring both live and dead stock including small and large consignments from across the UK.
  • Working as a key member of our Farm Sales team leading up to and during sale days; booking in stock, sorting stock, auctioneering, back penning, resolving queries.
