About the Role We are looking for an experienced Administrator to support our large animal team in Levin. This position will be the initial point of contact for clients. You will need to have a passion for the local community and the ability to convey knowledge in products and services to meet client needs. Levin & Horowhenua Vets is a busy mixed practice. They’ve been serving their community for over 80 years and have a strong and well-regarded production animal team. The companion animal side is equally busy, and the team is very proactive about creating offers that develop and expand their customer base. This opportunity would suit someone with exceptional organisational and communication skills who has a genuine desire to help our clients. The hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 5.30pm and possible participation in the Saturday roster. Areas of responsibility: Providing first point of contact for our clients and visitors Booking appointments for clients Answering animal health questions Telephone contact and follow-up calls Providing sales advice and product knowledge Administration support for our veterinarians Skills and experience you will possess: A passion for customer service, with excellent communication skills Enjoys working in a busy environment and being busy all day Rural, farming, or agricultural experience and knowledge Veterinary practice experience and knowledge Good knowledge of the Horowhenua area and geographical locations is preferred. Previous experience in managing calls, booking diaries and appointments Ability to work under pressure, to multi-task and to use initiative Excellent computer skills Confident, positive personality with strong interpersonal skills Ability to work in a team environment with a focus on detail and going the extra mile Previous experience within a customer service, veterinary or agricultural sector would be advantageous; however, training will be given.
