JOB DESCRIPTION

Farm worker’s are responsible for looking after the health and welfare and to assist in maximising production of a breeding herd to the standards set out by the Company in the policy and procedure manual, and as directed by the Unit Manager.

Responsibilities
  • To follow daily routines as set out in the procedure manual including feeding, bedding and day to day care of livestock.
  • To co-operate with the Unit Manager and the Area Manager in maintaining bio security in order to protect the health of the herd.
  • To undertake all husbandry duties.
  • To assist in the management of vaccination/medication programmes on the unit.
  • To monitor the health of the animals in your care in conjunction with the Unit Manager and to alert the Management should welfare be compromised in any way.
  • To ensure that the Unit is kept in good order, to ensure that the maintenance standards set out by the company are achieved including routine maintenance on site and fence repairs.
  • To operate as part of a team and co-operate with others at all times.
