Why we need you The Farmers Market Lead supports and leads Ground Market’s year-round direct-to-consumer sales. This role is central to the customer experience at farmers markets and our physical farmstand, while also supporting protein inventory organization and logistics. The Farmers Market Lead oversees day-to-day farmers market operations, delivers excellent customer service, ensures strong product presentation, and supports farmstand shifts, occasional processor pickups, and freezer inventory organization. This is a hands-on, full-time role for someone who enjoys customer-facing work, values regenerative agriculture, and brings care and consistency to both hospitality and operations. Responsibilities for Sales Associate Lead day-to-day operations of Ground Market farmers market booths Represent Ground Market at markets with warm, knowledgeable, and professional customer service Set up and break down market booths, including tents, freezers, displays, signage, and product Maintain strong knowledge of products and farm partners to educate and support customers Ensure market booths and farmstand areas are clean, organized, and well-presented Support staffing, training, and coordination of part-time market staff as needed Assist with shifts at the physical farmstand, including stocking, rotation, and customer service Occasionally assist with meat pickups from processors Organize, rotate, and maintain protein inventory in freezers to support accuracy, efficiency, and food safety Communicate inventory needs, issues, or opportunities to relevant team members Requirements Qualifications 2+ years of experience in farmers markets, retail, hospitality, or similar customer-facing roles Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional, and solution-oriented approach Experience using Point of Sale systems (Square/Toast/Shopify preferred) Comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day operations and leading by example Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and collaborate with a team Clear and effective communication skills (in person, phone, and email) Comfortable with physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working outdoors Familiarity with and interest in grass-fed, regenerative, and locally produced food Weekend availability required Clean driving record and comfort driving for occasional processor pickups Working conditions: Position requires prolonged standing, bending, and lifting products and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds Employee perks: 20% discount at Ground entities (includes Ground Market, Grounded Table, Grounded Body) Experience: 2+ years of experience in retail sales, farmers markets, hospitality, or similar The Ground is an equal opportunity employer.
