Job Title: Farmers Market Student Assistant Department/Program: Productions Organization Name: Associated Students, San Francisco State University Number of Openings: 1 Days/Hours & Duration of Job: To be determined. Up to 20 hours/week. Wage/Salary: $19.61/hr ( Effective July 1st, 2026) Employment Start Date: August 4th, 2026 Application Deadline: June 15th, 2026 About Farmers Market For almost 15 years, AS has provided a weekly Farmers Market on campus. This program empowers our students with the option to make healthy food choices to aid their bodies and minds with fresh and organic (when possible), produce and natural food items while they support local farmers and businesses. Position Details This position assists the Farmers Market Student Coordinator in running and managing the AS Farmers Market. This position will also work closely with the AS Farmers Market Student Coordinator and help facilitate that event. Essential Job Functions: * Assist the Student Coordinator in organizing and managing the AS Farmers Market, which includes but is not limited to: set up, breakdown, monitoring vendor placement and paperwork * Assist in coordinating activities present at the Farmers Market, such as cooking demos, etc. * Assist in management of the vendors’ payments * Assist in finding new vendors as needed * Assist outreach to the campus community and local Bay Area communities to share programming and event information for Farmers Market * Help to promote the Farmers Market and update events via social media outlets (Blog, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), and table on campus to encourage participation and involvement in the department’s work * Disseminate information and flyers to various campus departments, individuals and organizations to keep them informed of scheduled programming Qualifications: * Must be enrolled at SFSU with a minimum of 6 units for undergraduates or 4 units for graduates * Ability to interface effectively with persons at all professional levels and within all cultural groups * Willingness to learn and grow beyond one’s current state of cross-cultural awareness * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Ability to prioritize and handle projects/assignments while providing excellent professional service to SFSU community * Ability to work with minimal supervision * Excellent ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information * Ability to lift over 25 lbs * Ability to stand for 4 hr shifts For more information or questions regarding this job opportunity, please contact: Horace Montgomery, AED of Programs
