Senior Manager - Farming * Convenient Darling Downs location * Generous $$ package + bonus * 100% Australian owned & operated industry leader About the role  Reporting to the General Manager – Feedlots, Farming and Livestock, this pivotal role leads the strategic direction and deliverables of ACC’s broadacre farming operations and a small cattle backgrounding operation. Based at “Tungamah” you’ll be conveniently located just 10 minutes from Moonie, under an hour to Dalby and 2 hours from Toowoomba. Tungamah is 38,000 acres across 4 properties, with 10,000 acres of dryland crops quality sorghum, barely, oats and/or wheat to supply sileage and hay to our feedlots, wheat & sorghum for grain production plus backgrounding for up to 3,500 head of cattle. Our Brindley Park Farming operation, located near Roma is 9,000 acres of dryland irrigation.  This key position is responsible for driving operational excellence, productivity, safety and profitability across farming through effective leadership, planning, efficient utilisation and allocation of resources, assets and equipment and ensuring highest standards at all times in safety, animal welfare and the environment.  With a total team of 11 full-time farming and livestock staff across two locations, you’ll enjoy the variety of a mixed enterprise and balance between being strategic to being hands-on as you: * Develop people at all levels including mentoring and coaching leaders, hands on training and supervision of front-line staff * Develop and implement operational plans, budgets and production targets * Coordinate cropping programs, harvesting, storage and transport  * Manage capital expenditure and improvement projects * Manage assets, infrastructure and maintenance plans for equipment and machinery * Proactively monitor pasture conditions and seasonal trends * Record and reporting data, financials and compliance documentation  * Maintain inventory, consumables and stores * Liaise and coordinate suppliers, contractors and drivers   You’ll also enjoy collaborating internally with stakeholders at all stages of our supply chain including breeding, backgrounding, commodities and feedlots.  About you Along with demonstrated success as a people leader, you’ll be a progressive and passionate advocate for agriculture with extensive practical experience and knowledge across broadacre farming and livestock operations along with expertise in:  * Effective asset maintenance and infrastructure management  * Continuous improvement strategies and sustainable farming practices using latest techniques  * Monitoring pasture conditions with seasonal trends * Livestock handling and management * Planning and organisational ability  * Sound written communication and positive interpersonal skills * Plant, equipment and machinery operations, maintenance and use * Sound computer literacy (including Excel) * Modern farming systems and technology   What’s on offer Along with autonomy and support, an established and capable team, well maintained infrastructure, facilities and modern equipment, you’ll enjoy: * Generous salary & benefits * Annual short term bonus scheme  * Large, executive style, family home and surrounding gardens privately located  * Utilities, wifi and beef  * Tool of trade vehicle * Leadership and ongoing development opportunities * Industry events and networking * Employee Assistance Program and Workplace Banking * Genuine long term career prospects across our integrated cattle supply chain This opportunity is well suited for a career driven professional with a family being so close to local community and schools, with Brisbane & Toowoomba not too far away. Responsibilities
Lead the strategic direction and operational deliverables of broadacre farming and cattle backgrounding operations across two locations. Manage a team of 11 staff while overseeing cropping programs, asset maintenance, and financial reporting to ensure productivity and profitability.
