We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fashion Design Assistant to support our design team in the development of seasonal collections. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of style, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, creative environment. This role involves assisting with design development, sample coordination, fabric sourcing, and general support for the designer and production process.
Key Responsibilities
Design Development
- Organize and maintain design archives, samples, and reference materials.
Sample & Production Support
- Coordinate with pattern makers, technical designers, and sample makers during product development.
- Track and follow up on sample status, fittings, and approvals.
- Support fittings by taking notes, photographing garments, and recording corrections.
- Ensure samples are properly labeled, documented, and stored.
- Assist in keeping cost sheets updated.
Fabric & Trim Sourcing
- Research and source fabrics, trims, and embellishments as directed.
- Request and organize swatches, lab dips, and strike-offs from suppliers.
- Maintain fabric library and vendor database.
Administrative & Coordination
- Maintain design calendars, timelines, and production schedules.
- Communicate with suppliers, factories, and vendors regarding samples and approvals.
- Prepare line sheets and look books for internal and external presentations.
Showroom & Marketing Support
- Assist with garment preparation and coordination for photo shoots, runway shows, and showroom presentations.
- Support the sales and marketing team with collection information when needed.
General Support
- Maintain organization of the studio, fabrics, trims, and sample area.
- Manage garment check-in/check-out system for samples.
- Keep fabric sample cuts organized in design room.
- Run errands related to fabrics, trims, or production as needed.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Fashion Design or related field (preferred).
- 1–2 years of relevant experience (internship or assistant role in fashion preferred).
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or other design software.
- Basic understanding of garment construction and textiles.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
- Passion for fashion and attention to detail.
