Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

This role is the driving force behind our vocational training programme. Reporting to the General Manager and the Head of Social and Educational Programmes, you’ll deliver an engaging syllabus that helps students earn valuable qualifications and essential life skills.
As an Alternative Provision Instructor, you will deliver specially designed Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications. These tailored lessons aim to raise attainment for pupils with specific barriers to learning, ensuring they make the required progress set by their main educational setting. Ultimately, you’ll make a significant difference in the lives of the country’s most disadvantaged and disengaged young people.

AS AN INSTRUCTOR, YOU WILL BE TERM TIME ONLY (HOURS WILL VARY DEPENDING ON NEED) AND YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR..

  • Course Delivery: Prepare and deliver engaging lessons in health and safety, vehicle inspection, spark ignition power units, and customer service.
  • Student Assessment: Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Individual Support: Offer personalised guidance to help students overcome learning challenges.
  • Classroom Management: Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaboration: Work with the General Manager, Head of Social and Educational Programmes, and the FastForward crew.
  • Professional Development: Stay current in teaching practices through ongoing training.
  • Resource Management: Utilise a variety of teaching resources to enhance learning experiences.
  • Career Guidance: Assist students with career planning and provide advice on further education and training opportunities.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress.
  • Safeguarding: Ensure the safety and well-being of all students by adhering to safeguarding policies.
