Position Summary: The FBO General Manager (GM) is expected to be an exceptional relationship builder, dedicated to providing front-line leadership for a world-class customer service and safety-oriented operations team. This includes overseeing safe activities on the ramp and fostering positive interactions with customers, pilots, passengers, senior staff, and regulatory agencies. The FBO GM will be responsible for our airport location at the Allegheny County Airport. This position will drive strong business results for the FBO and will be responsible for the Profit and Loss Statements for this location. The GM will provide strong leadership and support to the staff while focusing on the development of our location. Additionally, the GM will implement operational excellence techniques to foster growth and improvement at each site. Objective: The FBO General Manager’s role is to drive exceptional business results for Vantage Aviation’s FBO at the Allegheny County Airport (AGC)This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic work environment, enjoys the rewards and challenges of business aviation and is passionate about leading a team. Requirements Responsibilities and Duties: Full profit and loss responsibilities for the FBO Provide strong leadership and support Improve the profitability of the business by championing and implementing operational excellence techniques, continuous improvement of processes, and KPIs Business growth and development Live, promote, and hold others accountable for our standards of service Ensure department supervisors and other personnel have the resources (including staff capacity, technology and training) they need to achieve our collective goals Foster a teamwork oriented, high-performance culture that is customer focused, and safety minded Contract review and negotiation, including but not limited to hangar leases, airport sponsor FBO operating and ground leases, fuel supply, equipment and vendor contracts Work in coordination with Vantage’s senior leadership team on FBO budget preparation, variance reporting and performance consistent with the goals of the company Assist in the development and implementation of processes and procedures Directly manage all Customer Service, Line Service, and other operational employees Work alongside other divisional leaders in aircraft management and charter, and maintenance Periodically conduct market comp survey’s to ensure competitive rates and charges Participate in regular meetings with senior level leadership Train, coach, evaluate, and develop new hire employees in accordance with established procedure Ensure the team is following company training and safety plans (SMS, ERP, etc.) Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as adherence to the ground lease with the airports and our service standards (e.g., ATA 103, DLA, etc.). Assist with implementation and certification of certain FBO certifications as directed by senior leadership Communicate with customers and employees in person, on the phone, and through radio communications Communicate and ensure good housekeeping practices and uniform standards to all employees Competencies: Demonstrated ability to interact with senior level executives Ability to exercise independent direction and judgment and work in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment Strong leadership, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills High integrity/excellent critical thinking skills Candidate must thrive in an entrepreneurial and dynamic environment with a demonstrated record of achievement Candidate must be a strong communicator Work Environment: This position operates in a professional environment, which may include exposure to all types of weather conditions and direct contact with both moving and non-moving aircraft. Depending on the day’s operation, this position could spend a large percentage of time working outside. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, to include but not limited to: Must be able to lift 50 pounds Possible exposure to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery Outside work in all types of weather conditions Stand to greet customers during verbal exchanges, walk throughout the facility to interact with customers Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is an exempt position This position may require working evenings and weekends, and on scheduled company holidays to accommodate the needs of the customers and employees. Reporting Structure: This position will initially report directly to the Chief Executive Officer of Vantage Aviation. Travel: While the majority of duties will be performed on site, travel is expected from time to time to industry trade shows, sales opportunities, and new location start ups as required.
