Are you seeking a position that will impact the lives of millions of Apple customers? At Apple, new ideas have a way of becoming extraordinary products, services, and customer experiences very quickly. We are committed to pushing the boundaries of innovation and democratize engineering Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations through the convergence of mechanical, electrical and machine learning. Apple Hardware Operations is seeking FEA Simulation Tools and Automation Engineer (Electro-Mechanical domain) to join our team. As a FEA Simulation Tools and Automation Engineer specializing in workflow automation and solver integration, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and deploying automated simulation workflows to model the electro-mechanical performance, reliability, and durability of our products under various operating conditions. Your primary focus will be on leveraging FEA solvers (ANSYS, ANSA, abaqus etc ) and scripting to create robust, efficient, and scalable simulation workflows. Harness the power of machine learning to perform predictive modeling. As a member of the a central cross-functional team, you will play a pivotal role in developing innovative solutions that directly impact the success of new iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Vision Pro and many more future products. Please come and join us!
DESCRIPTION
As a core member of the team, you will be responsible for the development, deployment and maintenance of automated workflows for model creation, meshing, simulation execution, results processing, and report generation using Python and FEA software APIs. Use FEA solvers (ANSYS, ANSA, Abaqus or similar software) to create seamless automated simulation workflows. Develop and implement automated validation procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of simulation results. Optimize simulation workflows for performance and scalability, enabling efficient execution of large-scale simulations. Document and maintain simulation workflows, scripts, and APIs. Develop and validate Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models for simulating a wide range of physical phenomena, including but not limited to: structural mechanics, thermal analysis, fluid dynamics, and electromagnetic simulations. Compare simulation results with physical test data to validate models and improve simulation accuracy. Explore the use of machine learning techniques to develop predictive models based on simulation data and test data. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in simulation techniques, material modeling, scripting languages, FEA software APIs, and relevant machine learning algorithms. Present simulation results, workflow improvements, and recommendations to engineering teams and management.
