Job Description

• Conduct comprehensive product assessments to evaluate design feasibility and manufacturability within automotive manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate closely with Product Engineering and Manufacturing teams to facilitate the exchange of information regarding product specifications and tooling requirements.
• Validate product interface with tooling systems to ensure seamless integration and compatibility during the manufacturing process.
• Analyze potential areas for improvement and make recommendations for Design to Manufacturing (DtM) changes to enhance product manufacturability and efficiency.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement recommended changes and ensure alignment between product design and manufacturing processes.
• Utilize engineering principles and tools to assess the impact of proposed changes on product performance, quality, and cost.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential challenges and develop mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with suppliers and external partners to gather input and incorporate best practices into product feasibility assessments.
• Document findings, recommendations, and decision rationale for future reference and continuous improvement efforts.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to product design and manufacturing feasibility.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on product assessment and feasibility within the automotive industry.
• Experience with design tools such as NX, Catia, AutoCAD, and also with the use of Teamcenter.
• Proven ability to facilitate communication and collaboration between Product Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
• Strong understanding of tooling requirements and their interface with product design.
• Experience in making recommendations for Design to Manufacturing (DtM) changes to improve product manufacturability.
• Proficiency in engineering analysis tools and software.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in cross-functional teams.
• Project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Continuous learning mindset and willingness to adapt to changing technologies and industry practices.
