Description:

OVERVIEW

We invite you to bring your experience in, passion for, defense civil works, installation management, and applying state-of-the-art geospatial technology to Esri’s national government account team. We’re looking for an individual who is customer-oriented, collaborative team player who enjoys identifying and implementing business and technical strategies to help customers solve problems and meet their mission. You’ll work closely with a team that focuses on new and existing US Army Corps of Engineers and US Army Installation customers to optimize and expand their adoption of Esri technology, identify new areas of growth, and deliver expertise that aligned with customers’ missions.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of enterprise sales and/or relevant consulting or program management experience
  • 3+ years of experience working in or supporting the federal government
  • Experience creating partnerships, and establishing yourself as a trusted advisor with customers
  • Understanding of account management, business development, account planning and opportunity strategy creation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Corps of Engineers, physical infrastructure, and defense facilities/facility management, new technology trends and the ability to translate this into solutions for customers
  • Knowledge of the Federal fiscal year, budgeting, and procurement cycles
  • General knowledge of the Federal contract process
  • Able to negotiate, present, and support visual storytelling across all levels of an organization
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%
  • General knowledge of data science or spatial analysis and how it is used for problem solving and uncovering patterns and trends within organizations
  • Bachelor’s in GIS, business administration, or a related field

  • US citizenship and ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of GIS, Esri technology, and various industries as they relate to one another.
  • Experience managing the sales cycle
  • Master’s in GIS, business administration, or a related field

Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships. Prospect and develop customers, and implement sales strategies to grow awareness of the value of GIS. Maintain a healthy pipeline of business growth opportunities for new and existing customers. Leverage your writing, articles, blogs and other avenues to build your professional network. Participate and present at trade shows, workshops, and seminars.
  • Understand our customers’ requirements. Demonstrate industry knowledge of the US Army Corps of Engineers and US Army Installations and relevant applications of GIS. Identify key stakeholders and business drivers for the organizations. Understand federal budgeting and acquisition processes. Use consultative, solution-selling skills to discover the needs and business challenges of customers.
  • Learn and grow. Demonstrate industry and technical knowledge by clearly articulating the strength and value of ArcGIS technology to organizations. Consistently conduct research and pursue professional development to anticipate customer needs and trends that may impact them.
  • Deliver results. Successfully execute the account management and sales processes to achieve goals. Use whiteboard sessions and other techniques to support visual storytelling and propose solutions that best meet the needs of the customers.
  • Collaborate with others. Leverage your industry knowledge when working with teams across Esri to define and execute account strategies. Be motivated and resourceful and take initiative to resolve issues.
