We are a locally focused manufacturing & distribution team that values teamwork, craftsmanship and reliability. We’re hiring a dependable, hands-on Feed Mill Operator to join our small team. You’ll work side by side with the crew to produce, mix, bag, and ship high-quality feed, as well as help with mechanical maintenance, training, and daily operations. This role is perfect for someone who’s mechanically inclined, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Operate feed production equipment including mixers, grinders, pellet mills (Bliss or CPM), conveyors, and bagging lines. Bag and sew feed products as needed to meet production goals. Mix feed according to established formulas and quality standards. Properly document each batch for quality control and compliance (HACCP, GMP, FSMA). Sample and test incoming ingredients, unload railcars, and verify product quality. Maintain accurate inventory and assist with load-out operations. Perform daily cleaning and housekeeping in the mill and load-out areas. Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical issues. Follow lock-out/tag-out and safety procedures. Report and coordinate repair needs promptly. Promote a positive, safety-minded, team-oriented culture. Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills. Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships. Practice punctual and reliable attendance. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements JOB REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent. Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair basic equipment issues. Ability to lift 60 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally. Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel frequently. Reach overhead and work in confined spaces as needed. Work in dusty or changing weather conditions. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Demonstrate basic computer skills, including navigating websites and receiving/sending emails. Demonstrate strong organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills. Professional appearance and demeanor. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS Experience in manufacturing or agriculture. Feed manufacturing experience. Experience operating Bliss or CPM pellet mills. Lock-Out/Tag-Out training. Forklift certifications. Preventive maintenance or welding experience. SCHEDULE This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position, typically Monday – Friday (schedule may vary). Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS $25.00 - $35.00/hour.
