SKILLS AND EXPERTISE

  • Mechanically inclined
  • Excellent computer skills – Gamers welcome!
  • Ability & willingness to work shifts and overtime.
  • Ability to lift 25 kgs regularly
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and excellent interpersonal/communication skills
  • Detailed orientated, respectful, and coachable
  • 2 - 3 years manufacturing experience an asset but not mandatory
  • Forklift certification is preferred but not mandatory

Trouw Nutrition is seeking a Feed Mill Operator to be a part of feeding the future!
About The Role: Reporting to the Production Manager, the Feed Mill Operator should possess the ability and willingness to perform multiple roles within the operation of bulk receiving, mixing, pelleting, and shipping to list a few.

OPERATIONAL TASKS:

  • Executes a variety of operational activities / processes and operates all equipment to contribute to a safe, effective and efficient production processes
  • Constant quality and food safety awareness & take corrective action to prevent and fix any issues
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding production targets while maintain safety & quality standards
  • Maintain efficiency to ensure production flow will meet customer requirements on a timely basis
  • Signals deviations in current processes, techniques and/or systems and flags opportunities for improvement with supervisor, to continuously optimize and improve operational (work) processes, tools and systems
  • Collaboration with team members along with coaching and training of new team members

Maintenance, repair & reporting:

  • Periodically inspects and executes small maintenance tasks on the production equipment, signaling defects and deficiencies
  • If applicable and appropriate, conducts minor repair work
  • Logs data and information on production orders and activities in the appropriate logbooks and systems to have a complete administration and insight in the state and progress of production orders

Safety & Compliance:

  • Works in compliance with all relevant personal and food safety standards, environmental and quality regulations and procedures, as well as operational standards
  • Promotes awareness on SHEQ, signals potential hazardous and / or unsafe situations, takes appropriate action is case of imminent unsafe situations
  • Ensures the work area is left clean and in a safe working condition and that there are no hazardous situations. Maintains the appearance of the production line(s), working area(s) and production site
