Description Position Objective: The internship will provide hands-on experience to develop knowledge, skills, leadership and relationships in preparation for a career as a sales/livestock production specialist. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Learn about CFS feed programs and products. Learn formulation software to help develop rations and apply feeding principles Take part in producer meetings to discuss management practices, livestock, facilities, marketing plans and business opportunities to enhance the profitability of their operation Shadow and learn feed mill processes – inventory, pricing, ordering, mixing, food safety and compliance Complete a summer project, conclude internship with a presentation Know and follow all company safety policies/procedure. Perform work in a safe manner while observing all OSHA state and federal safety regulations Represent yourself and CFS professionally at all times in action and appearance. Perform other duties and projects as requested by supervisor or management CFS is an Equal Opportunity Employer Requirements Qualifications: Excellent communication and people skills Highly motivated, positive attitude and organizational skills Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office software Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record Working Environment: Will be subject to dusty conditions and temperature extremes both indoors and outside, and adverse weather conditions. Ability to work extended hours. Physical Demands:Able to lift and carry 50 pounds; climb ladders and steps; reach above, below and at shoulder level; work on or with moving machinery; have full use of arms, hands, legs; have good finger dexterity.
Responsibilities
The internship involves learning about feed programs and products, participating in producer meetings, and shadowing feed mill processes. Interns will also complete a summer project and present their findings at the conclusion of the internship.
