Fellow Engineer.-IVR Nuclear Safety
Education & Experience: An advanced degree and experience, a Ph.D degree and about 10 years’ experience. OR a MS degree and 12 years’ experience. OR a BS degree and approximately 15 years’ experience.

Top Skills & Years of Experience:

  • Considered an internal expert in area of expertise. Contributes to advancing knowledge in field of expertise through various avenues such as internal and external publications and professional society presentations. Can solve complex problem in field.
  • Demonstrate a minimum of 15 years of recent experience in the nuclear safety industry through support of the Department of Energy (DOE) or the commercial nuclear industry.
  • Alternate combination of education and experience will be considered where candidate has an advanced degree.
  • Familiar with Nuclear Safety Programs and considered a Nuclear Safety Subject Matter Expert.
  • Previous experience in performing and/or evaluating nuclear operations.
  • Proficient in performing Nuclear Safety Program assessments, facility RAs, and IVRs.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems in the field.
  • Previous experience with the use and implementation of 10 CFR 830, DOE O 425.1, DOE O 420.1, DOE-Std-3009, Technical Safety Requirements and related directives, standards and guides is required.
  • Must demonstrate personal accountability for facility/project schedules, deadlines, budgets, and the safe performance of work

Nice to Have:

  • Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two years.
  • Previous experience in developing, reviewing, and maintaining DOE safety basis documents.
