Description The Department of Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine is looking for a qualified Solid Organ Transplant Surgeon to join our team as a transplant surgery fellow and junior faculty member. Applicants of the 2026 Surgical Fellowship Match must submit an application to the San Francisco Match program by 3/1/26 and job applications using the Emory Careers Website. This two-year clinical fellowship, overseen by William Kitchens, MD, is accredited by the American Society of Transplant Surgeons in adult and pediatric liver and kidney transplantation. Fellows will be trained in the operative techniques of transplantation of abdominal solid organs (kidney/liver/pancreas), laparoscopic living donor nephrectomy, and the procurement of abdominal organs for transplantation from deceased organ donors (including machine perfusion of donor livers and normothermic regional perfusion). Fellows will also be mentored in the preoperative evaluation of potential organ transplant recipients and the full spectrum of post-transplant management issues. Clinical research during the fellowship period is encouraged. A competitive salary will be paid. Fellow candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders and have completed prior surgical residency or fellowship training in an ACGME-certified training program.
