DISABILITY AND MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT WORKER

As a Disability Support Worker with Cordial Care, you will provide essential assistance to individuals with disabilities, aiming to enhance their quality of life and independence. Responsibilities differ depending on the needs of each participant but may include offering personal care, facilitating activities, and advocating for clients’ needs within community and home settings.

Preference:

• Muslim female applicants who are fluent in Urdu are strongly encouraged to apply, as we aim to provide culturally appropriate support to some of our participants.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Skills:
- Empathy and compassion.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to provide personal care with dignity and respect.
- Patience and understanding to handle challenging behaviors.
- Organizational skills to manage schedules and documentation.
- Problem-solving abilities to address daily challenges effectively.
- Teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and healthcare professionals.
Qualifications:
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support (desirable)
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Working with Vulnerable People Card
- Recent Police Check
- NDIS Workers Screening Check
- NDIS Workers Orientation Module Certificate
- Drivers License and Registered Vehicle
- Comprehensive Car Insurance
- Understanding of person-centered care principles
- Ability to follow care plans and support individual needs
- Experience in disability support, mental health or other related fields (REQUIRED).

• Documenting progress and communicating effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Advocating for the rights and needs of individuals with disabilities to ensure they receive appropriate support and resources.
