Right at Home provides in-home disability support services, supporting people to live independently. We are currently looking for Disability Support Workers to join our Northern Rivers team. The Disability Support Worker is responsible for implementing support services aimed at maximising the living, social and recreational skills of people with a disability. Community inclusion, independence, decision making, and personal choice should be promoted through these supports, with a focus on individual needs. All service delivery must be in line with the Policies and Procedures of Right at Home Care and the NDIS Framework .
We offer an opportunity for empathetic Disability Support Workers to assist individuals in reaching their full potential. We currently have Active sleep over shifts available two nights per week from 9.00pm-6.00am with the view to more shifts becoming available. Training provided.

Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Overnight support where the worker is required to be awake and available to provide support to the participant for more than two hours during the overnight period.
  • Support administration of medications through Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG).
  • Support nutrition and hydration through Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG).
  • Support safe mobilisation and transfers.
  • Support respiratory function and breathing using oral suction, assisted cough techniques, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy and nebulised medication.
  • Support client with non-verbal communication, adapt to communication changes and ensure a supportive environment.
  • Measure and document vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and oxygen saturation.
  • Maintain accurate and objective documentation.
  • Recognise signs and symptoms of deterioration and escalate concerns.
