As a Casual Mental Health and Disability Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in assisting individuals to achieve their personal goals, enhance their independence, and improve their overall quality of life. Your responsibilities will be including but not limited to:

  • Providing one-on-one support to clients in their homes (Domestic Assistance: meal preparations, cleaning, laundry, and companionship) or Social Support (transporting to appointments, shopping, or community outings) or Personal Care (showering, toileting, and overall personal hygiene maintenance).
  • Developing and implementing individualised care plans tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals.
  • Offering emotional support and companionship to individuals facing mental health challenges.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team (GP, OT, Support Coordinator, Community Nurse, Social Worker, family etc) to ensure comprehensive and integrated care.
  • Monitoring and documenting clients’ progress, behaviours, and any changes in their condition by writing a shift report or progress note within 24 hours.
