FEMALE SUPPORT WORKER - ST BARNABAS (SUPPORTED LIVING)

We are currently recruiting for a full time (37.5 hours) Female Support Worker at our service, St Barnabas Court in Hemel Hempstead. The role is based in Hemel Hempstead with some travel to locations in St Albans.
St Barnabas provides supported living homes for people with learning disabilities. We have 8 supported living homes for people with 24-hour support on site provided. We also provide outreach support for people with learning disabilities in the community.

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping people live independently and with dignity. As part of the role, you will:

  • Assess needs and develop personalised support plans
  • Promote independencethrough life skills such as cooking, cleaning, and budgeting
  • Provide personal care with sensitivity and respect
  • Follow and contribute to risk assessments and management plans
  • Induct and assist in the mentoring of new staff
  • Support aspirations and help individuals achieve their goals

ABOUT YOU:

We are looking for someone with experience in the care or support sector, who brings a can-do attitude and a genuine desire to help others thrive.

You will also need to:

  • Communicate effectively and adapt to different needs and preferences
  • Be flexible and reliable, able to work shifts including weekends and bank holidays
  • This role also includes one shift per week of completing a sleep in.
  • Work well as part of a team and independently
  • Be committed to equality, diversity, and person-centred care
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work which includes business insurance
Responsibilities

IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT YOU HOLD A FULL UK DRIVING LICENCE, HAVE ACCESS TO A VEHICLE FOR WORK PURPOSES AND ARE HAPPY TO DO SLEEP-INS. (AN ALLOWANCE FOR £52.78 PER SLEEP IN IS PAID)

We will support your development with a structured induction, comprehensive training, and the opportunity to gain an accredited vocational qualification.
