We are looking for an experienced Fermentation & DSP Research Technician to join our team in Aurora, CO. If you have a strong background in microbial fermentation and product recovery — and are ready to make an impact from day one — we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
· Operate and optimize lab- and pilot-scale fermentations (aerobic/anaerobic).
· Perform downstream recovery and purification (centrifugation, filtration, extraction, chromatography).
· Monitor and analyze fermentation performance using assays (HPLC, GC, spectrophotometry).
· Maintain microbial cultures, media prep, and aseptic techniques.
· Document results, follow SOPs, and support process troubleshooting.
· Work closely with scientists and engineers to scale processes from bench to pilot.
What We’re Looking For
· Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related field.
· 3–5 years of hands-on experience with fermentation and downstream processing.
· Strong understanding of bioprocess operations, aseptic techniques, and lab safety.
· Proven ability to troubleshoot, work independently, and deliver results quickly.
Nice-to-Have Skills
· Gas fermentation experience (CO₂, syngas, methane, hydrogen).
· Experience with scale-up from benchtop to pilot or industrial scale.
· Familiarity with bioprocess control systems (e.g., Sartorius, Applikon, DeltaV).
· Knowledge of advanced DSP (membrane separations, crystallization, solvent recovery).
· Hands-on with biopolymer or protein recovery and characterization.
· Comfort with data analysis software (MATLAB, JMP, or similar).
