Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking an innovative, passionate and experienced arts communications and partnerships professional to join our dynamic festivals team.
An exciting new role, the Festivals Communications and Partnerships Officer works under the supervision of the Executive Producer Festivals to plan, develop and implement the marketing plans, audience engagement and development functions for the Arts Merri-bek festival program. In addition, the role identifies and maintains strategic partnership and sponsorship relationships across the program.
Arts Merri-bek festivals include the Brunswick Music Festival, Sydney Road Street Party, Glenroy Festival, Fawkner Festa, Coburg Night Market and Carols by the Lake. They are unique events with different audiences and expectations and take place in different environments. Our festivals and events centre Merri-bek’s diverse community and provide opportunities for artists, community participation and celebration.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about community and festivals, speaking to audiences and building partnerships through working collaboratively with a small and dedicated team in a great inner-city Council.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRE TO PERFORM THE ROLE

  • Demonstrated marketing experience in the arts, festivals, events, film or music industries.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with demonstrable experience in writing and editing for a variety of audiences in a range of mediums with experience and/or interest in engaging with diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexibly, effectively, and cooperatively as part of team in a demanding, fast-paced work environment with competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated sponsorship and stakeholder management experience including delivering stakeholder events.
  • Ability to deliver quality and innovative outcomes within tight timelines and within budget.
  • Ability to think analytically, strategically and creatively.
  • Experience in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign) highly regarded, together with high level computer literacy.
