Job Summary: This position is accountable for performing a variety of more complex echocardiographic procedures with expertise, using ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic quality echocardiographic studies under a variety of conditions. Performs EKG's, holter and multi-event monitor applications as requested. Assists the Cardiologist as required. Works under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor. Participates in the rotation of on-call duties and Outreach Clinic involvement with other Cardiac Sonographers as assigned. Increasingly acts as a resource to the Department. Qualifications: Education College Degree - 2 year Accredited Echocardiography/ Ultrasonography (required) Or Program Accredited Echocardiography/ Ultrasonography Technical/ Vocational Training (required) Or High School Diploma/G.E.D. (required) And Equivalent Experience If individual has neither accredited program nor 2 year degree, High School Diploma and equivalent experience sufficient to allow for successful completion of either ARDMS or CCI certification required below. (required) College Degree - 4 year Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography (preferred) Licenses and Certifications BLS - Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required) CCI - Cardiovascular Credentialing International within 18 months of hire or transfer into position (required) Or RDCS-PE - ARDMS Pediatric Echocardiograp within 18 months of hire or transfer into position (required) RDCS-FE - ARDMS Fetal Echocardiography Merced Clinic only (required) RDCS-AE - ARDMS Adult Echocardiography (preferred) Work Experience Minimum one (1) year Congenital & pediatric echocardiography (preferred) Demonstrated proficiency in the skills and knowledge required to perform the job. (required) Skills and Abilities Other Demonstrated knowledge of cardiac embryology, congenital heart defects, cardiac hemodynamics and palliative/corrective congenital heart surgical procedures. Responsibilities
