PRIORITY, one of the largest and fastest growing Management and IT consulting firms in Greece, is currently seeking a Fiber Network Engineer on behalf of our client in the telecommunications industry. Role overview: The Fiber Network Engineer will be responsible for the design, deployment, maintenance, and optimization of fiber optic networks to ensure high-quality communication infrastructures. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver fiber network projects efficiently and in compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Conduct site surveys to identify the optimal deployment routes for FttX networks Make decisions on technical solutions related to fiber network expansions Ensure subcontractor compliance with Health & Safety rules Resolve day‑to‑day issues during implementation activities by providing appropriate technical solutions Provide immediate technical solutions in cases of unexpected infrastructure damage Review and validate fiber routes derived from high‑level fiber optic designs (FttX) Supervise construction works in compliance with network specifications and approved budgets (FttX) Demonstrate flexibility in accommodating changes to initial designs when required Provide detailed measurements and documentation of new infrastructure data resulting from implementation activities (FttX) Maintain continuous communication with contractors regarding project progress Monitor budget related to various construction works Manage and coordinate contractors’ deployment activities Evaluate contractor performance through project documentation and established departmental processes Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of professional experience working with fiber optic networks. Strong knowledge of fiber optic technologies, splicing, testing, and network design. Experience with fiber optic testing tools such as OTDR, power meters, and light sources. Understanding of network protocols and physical layer technology in telecommunications. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Familiarity with health & safety regulations related to fiber optic network installations. Flexibility to travel to various site locations as required.
