Description

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • College Diploma in Engineering Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of direct, relevant experience in the design of Fiber, HFC, or including FTTC, FTTF, and segmentation.
  • Experience with outside plant (OSP) design of utilities (electric, gas, telecom, fiber optics, etc.) is required.
  • Past experience working within a telecommunication company, LDC, or an Engineering Consultant firm.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Detailed working knowledge of SpatialNet and other GIS/Spatial platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Deep technical experience with Fiber networks, including Fiber to the Home, centralized and distributed splitting architecture, and splicing.
  • Knowledge of technical standards for the design of outside networks (poles, broadband technology, fiber, and copper cables) is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Aerial and Underground designs, drawings, and specifications.
  • Experience with Passive Optical Networks.
