Description Top Dog Services is currently seeking full-time Fiber Optic Splicers to perform fiber optic cable splicing and testing to ensure reliable, high-performance connectivity in main-line construction projects. This position will also install, prep and terminate fiber optic enclosures, panels and splice cases. This position reports daily to the job site, not to an office location. Individuals in this role must be comfortable working with customers and technology on a daily basis as well as willing to travel. What’s in it for you? No experience needed – we will train! All travel and hotel accommodations are covered by the company. Requirements Perform fusion splicing of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cables in outdoor (aerial and underground) environments. Conduct OTDR, light source/power meter and fiber characterization testing to ensure splices meet client specifications and industry standards. Diagnose and repair issues in newly installed or existing fiber networks. Accurately record splicing details, fiber assignments and test results using company forms or digital reporting systems. Maintain up-to-date daily production logs and as-built documentation. Properly set up work zones, traffic control and utilize PPE at all times. Maintain, calibrate and safely operate fusion splicers, cleavers, OTDRs and other fiber tools and equipment. Report and coordinate calibration needs and equipment repair as required. Support field quality control inspections and make corrections promptly when needed. Minimum 1 year of hands-on fiber splicing experience (fusion and/or mechanical) is preferred. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company’s minimum safety standard. Strong computer skills with Microsoft applications. Safety oriented and able to follow safety requirements. Able to meet physical requirements: climb ladders, lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., squat, kneel, bend, crawl and stand for long periods of time. Knowledge of hand and power tools. Self-starter with positive attitude and willingness to work. Schedule: Required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week. 10-hour shift, scheduled 5 – 6 days a week. Willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed in addition to regular travel. Travel will be required 2 – 3 weeks at a time in and out of state depending on business needs. Employment is contingent on successful completion of a pre-employment screen to include a drug test.
