Our Howe Sound Mill, located on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia is seeking talent to fill the position of Fibre Distribution & Logistics Superintendent.
This position is a critical role in our organization, prioritizing the safe and efficient operation of three departments: Chip Line, Deep Sea Dock, and Mill Services (including Mobile Equipment and Janitorial). The role ensures regulatory compliance, drives operational improvements, oversees maintenance activities, and fosters a strong safety-first culture.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience, including in-depth knowledge of the pulp process
  • At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role
  • Proven ability to organize, plan, lead, and motivate teams to achieve operational goals
  • Demonstrated success in engaging and leading personnel
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Solid technical expertise, with strong project management and strategic planning abilities
  • Experience effectively managing labor relations in a unionized environment
Responsibilities
  • Ensure full compliance with all safety programs and initiatives, fostering a strong safety-first culture.
  • Promote safety awareness across all operational levels.
  • Supervise the efficient loading of 400,000 ADMT of pulp onto breakbulk vessels.
  • Implement efficiency improvements across all four operational departments.
  • Manage multiple maintenance projects simultaneously.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations in all mill services, including security, rail operations, landfill management, and mobile equipment.
  • Manage all aspects of warehouse operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in inventory handling and distribution.
