This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys applying their financial expertise in a sophisticated legal environment, particularly in the areas of estate, trust, and fiduciary work.

POSITION OVERVIEW – ESTATE/FIDUCIARY ACCOUNTANT (NAPLES, FL):

The Estate/Fiduciary Accountant will play a key role in supporting attorneys and clients with the preparation and review of estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax returns. This position involves hands-on work with trust and estate administration, as well as maintaining accurate accounting records and responding to inquiries from tax authorities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CPA or Enrolled Agent designation required
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a trust and estate practice at a law firm, CPA firm, or financial institution
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage deadlines in a fast-paced legal setting
  • Professional demeanor and ability to develop strong working relationships with attorneys, clients, and colleagues

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and file Federal and state estate tax and gift tax returns
  • Prepare and file Federal and state fiduciary income tax returns
  • Prepare estate and trust accountings
  • Handle informational returns for tax-exempt entities
  • Assist with estate and gift tax planning, including actuarial and interest computations (e.g., QPRTs, GRATs, CRATs, CLUTs)
  • Maintain and update estate and trust accounts and tax records
  • Respond to audit inquiries from the IRS and state tax agencies
  • Support attorneys with estate administration tasks, including probate filings, inventories, asset collection, and distributions to beneficiaries
  • Other duties, as needed
