QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-year engineering/technical degree AND minimum of 5 years proven technical sales expertise within the automotive product and or automotive sensor market … temperature, pressure and/or gas sensor experience preferred. Direct experience that includes application of sensors to automotive and/or heavy vehicle off-road strongly desired. Strong communication skills, ability to penetrate the customer’s organization for deep and broad lasting customer relationships, analytical aptitude, automotive and heavy-duty vehicle market knowledge, high energy, self-motivated, goal oriented, strong engineering and problem-solving skillset.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Transportation FAE will be responsible for technical field support for products from the Amphenol Sensors businesses. Specifically, temperature sensors, pressure sensors, and gas & moisture sensors. The role will work very closely with Engineering and Sales on pipeline development, pipeline conversion, technical product support, and market intelligence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Pipeline development – responsible for the identification and development of application specific sales focus to deliver customer pipeline opportunities aligned to business strategy and market needs
  • Pipeline conversion – responsible for conversion of strategic pipeline opportunities to deliver sales revenue for the business
  • Product and application technical support lead
  • Develop and provide internal sales and external customer training
  • Support revenue growth and build deep and broad lasting relationships with key customers, thought leaders and technical decision makers
  • Provide market intelligence around application focused areas that will provide input to business product roadmaps and guidance to regional sales team
  • Customer roadmaps – be able to articulate customer’s product roadmaps to feed into business strategy development and direction
  • Regulations – understand new developments that can form the direction of the market and applications
  • Competitive benchmarking - Stay abreast of competitive landscape and potential threats
  • Leadership via writing/creating application notes, product and/or technology white papers, etc.
  • Provide training and key account support for sales
