SC Galaxy Care is a bespoke family owned Care Company who specialise in both complex and domiliary care. We are looking for an experienced flexible part time field supervisor (1-3 days per week, dependant on the weekly needs of the business) to join our vibrant domiciliary Care team providing a quality service for Elderly (including complex care clients), and Disabled individuals. We are looking for an individual with a mature, flexible, and empathetic attitude who has worked in a similar background.

Experience / Qualifications, The ideal person will:

  • Experience in the care industry (at least 3 years proven experience as a field supervisor).
  • Complex care experience desirable (Tracheostomy, PEG, stoma care etc.)
  • NVQ 2 or equivalent qualification desirable.
  • Good working knowledge and experience of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to learn new software packages for rostering. Experience of care planner is desirable.
  • Organised and good customer service skills.
  • Ability to deal empathetically and politely with clients with challenging behaviour.
  • Dealing with carers in a supportive, mentoring manner.
  • Be an effective team player and have a flexible working ethic.
  • To undertake care calls in the community when required.
  • Availability to work weekends/ evenings for spot checks when so required.
  • Ability to undertake On Call - out of hours duties (if so required).
  • Flexibility work late or start early for client/ carers visits depending on requirements of the business.
  • A full UK driving licence and own car is essential.
  • Live locally within reasonable commutable distance of the Lewisham Borough as the primary area of business (not exclusively - you will be required to travel to neighbouring Boroughs such as Southwark, Bromley etc.)
Responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES OF THE ROLE:

  • Spot checks on Carers.
  • Service and quality reviews of clients.
  • Implementation of quality control procedures.
  • Promote the development of carers and provide leadership in the improvement of good care practice.
  • Risk assessments of new referrals.
  • MAR chart auditing.
  • Attending Customer’s first call to introduce the Care Worker to the Customer.
  • Resolving complaints in the Community and making reactive visits.
  • Involvement of training carers and attending meetings with OTs or other professionals in the field whenever required.
  • To implement field based training and supervision programmes.
  • Covering carers shifts for holidays and sickness when required.
  • Induction and support of new carers.

OFFICE DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Ensuring all Service Users’ paperwork and files are processed and up to date.
  • Prepare and complete paperwork for all new referrals and field observations.
  • Update rostering system with outcome of Risk Assessments/Reviews and Spot Checks and liaising with care coordinators quickly and efficiently regarding issues/ risks.
  • Participation of carer supervisions.
  • Assist in care coordination duties if so required.
  • Assisting Care Coordinator in weekly rostering as and when required.
