This role is ideal for someone who thrives in the field, enjoys solving problems firsthand at customer locations, and brings a disciplined, detail‑driven approach to every project. This position requires confidence, precision, and a strong sense of responsibility. You may work with a team or independently, representing our team on‑site, so a careful, methodical, and task‑oriented mindset is essential. General Job Duties:   * Deliver GrayMatter field services with a strong focus on industrial control systems * Design, develop, and implement solutions that resolve customer issues efficiently * Train and consult with end users on new applications and system functionality * Support project planning, development, and documentation * Perform on‑site pilots, FAT/SAT testing, and system demonstrations * Travel independently to customer sites 75–90% of the time Knowledge, Skills and Experience Needed:  * Bachelor’s degree in EE, EET, ME, MET, or equivalent experience/training * Hands‑on experience with industrial PLC programming (Rockwell, Siemens, Modicon, etc.) * Rockwell PLC experience is required * Strong background in control system design, implementation, installation, and troubleshooting * Ability to read and understand electrical schematics * Exceptional attention to detail and process accuracy * Strong problem‑solving and technical research skills * Professional, customer‑focused communication style * Ability to work independently in the field and collaborate effectively with remote teams * Commitment to GrayMatter’s Core Values: Accountability, Integrity, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork Most Preferred Skillsets:  * Rockwell PLCs & HMIs  * Wonderware / AVEVA  * GE iFix  * Ignition  Preferred experience:  * Industrial Networking (Ethernet IP, Modbus, etc.)  * Other PLC and/or HMI experience  * Machine Vision Systems (Cognex, Keyence)  * Industry experience in Pharma, Food & Beverage, Packaging, or Material Handling Featured Benefits:  * Employer paid short term disability and life insurance  * 401(k) with up to 4% company match  * Paid holidays, paid time off, paid sick leave, and paid parental leave  * Additional benefits available such as long term disability, accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, EAP, telemedicine, HSA and FSA
