Overview Position shall direct and coordinate technicians assigned to construct, repair, maintain, inspect, and operate the gas distribution system. Provide on the job coaching, training and inspection of work methods in the field. Provide feedback to employees and management team. Position is also responsible for assuring employees under responsibility complete work in accordance with applicable Company and regulatory standards, and that all work is completed with consideration for the customer experience. Validate that field employees and business partners in Gas Operations are performing tasks in accordance with appropriate regulations and company policies. #INDLGE #LG&EKU Responsibilities •Ensure all personnel under responsibility perform work in accordance with applicable regulatory and Company safety rules. Conduct documented jobsite inspections of field employees (safety audits, vehicle inspections, work quality audits). •Train, coach and mentor field employees on findings of audits and inspections. •Ensure all personnel under responsibility are trained and developed to be knowledgeable of applicable construction, maintenance, repair, and operating standards commensurate with their assignments and position. •Ensure personnel, equipment, and material resources are optimized, through effective planning, scheduling, and execution of assigned jobs. •Effectively account for all assigned labor, materials, inventory, equipment, and vehicles in accordance with applicable Company policies. •Effectively manage work priorities and risk. •Work with Gas Operations Management Team to allocate available personnel as needed to respond to outages, emergencies, or other trouble on the gas distribution system. •Evaluate and discuss employee’s job performance and progress, with Team Leader to assist in employee performance reviews evaluations, recommendations and promotions or disciplinary action. •Effectively direct field employees in the execution of planned, unplanned, and emergency restoration work. •Reinforce safety messages, new procedures, new equipment and other information on jobsites. •Assist with review boards and hands on training sessions. •Assist in conducting fact-finding investigations and participate in the decision-making process. •Assist with employee disciplinary matters. •Engage in active role with lockout tagout (LOTO) procedures. •Assemble and present presentations at Gas All Hands Meetings and other meetings as requested. •Fill in for team leader vacancies including working 2nd shift. Position may require extended hours. •Assist in ensuring that equipment and material are stocked and available for use. •Assist in repairs and maintenance of equipment (e.g. troubleshoot issues with combustible gas indicators, calibration stations, iPads). •Participate in BPP and maintain and/or obtain necessary Operator Qualifications. •Act as liaison between business and IT to advocate for field, dispatch, and administrative needs to implement changes to our work management systems. Test work management system changes, assist in the development of training documentation, and perform training within work groups for new systems and system changes. •Performs other duties as assigned •Complies with all policies and standards Qualifications Required Education High school diploma or GED Required Experience 7+ years Journeyman classification in a Gas Distribution Operations Line of Progression Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skill proficiency. Must have a valid drivers license Preferred Qualifications •Demonstrated proficiency in Company’s Mobile and Mapping applications and associated technologies •Demonstrated proficiency in the construction, maintenance and operations of gas distribution systems •Demonstrated technical expertise in assigned area Work Conditions Most time is spent with field employees, as such exposure to elements, noise and other construction site hazards are encountered on a daily basis. Typical work hours are 7:30am – 3:30pm, but may vary depending on the needs of those in the field. After hours response may be necessary. Position will be required to fulfill periodic on-call rotations
