About the Role (Your Why)
The Field Engineer is responsible for providing highly visible customer support through the performance of on-site installation, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. The role is base on-site with one of our key clients.

*Please note: Due to the security requirements of our customers, this role is only available to New Zealand Citizens and/or Permanent Residents having lived in NZ for a minimum of 5 consecutive years *

What You’ll Do:Some of your responsibilities may include:

  • Onsite support across a number of clients (varying locations) – valid NZ driver’s license and your own vehicle desirable.
  • Serving as the company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.
  • Building and supporting end-user devices (PCs, laptops, thin clients, printers, mobiles, tablets).
  • Diagnosing faults / troubleshooting / problem solving.
  • Windows desktop and server and Network support.
  • Building productive working relationships across a variety of colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
  • May include any aspect of field support, and is not limited to system hardware and software, PCs, and networking/wireless networking.
Responsibilities

To be successful in this role you will ideally have had experience in a similar role, with a wide range of general IT skills. You will demonstrate excellent problem solving and communication skills. You’ll need to be a self-starter, with good organisation skills and attention to detail. You should generally bring:

  • 2+ years of relevant IT experience.
  • Experience with installation, diagnoses and repair of pc systems, end user devices and software (e.g. laptops, desktops, tables, Intune, O365, current Windows Operating Systems)
  • Working familiarity with server and networking equipment
  • Ability to work on assignments of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organisational goals.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate user needs into a technical solution.
  • Excellent customer relationship building and management skills.
  • Effective presentation skills with the ability to convey technical information across various levels
