Konecranes & Demag are seeking a driven Field Engineer to join our Sydney team, as an Engineering Specialist – Consultation Services, you’ll play a vital role in providing expert engineering support across site inspections, reporting, and design assessments in Smithfield, Australia. You’ll collaborate with various teams to ensure our solutions align with Australian Standards and exceed client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site inspections and assessments, creating detailed reports aligned with Australian Standards.
  • Perform engineering design calculations and certifications for cranes and other equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Consultation Services Manager and inspectors to deliver technical solutions.
  • Utilize CRM tools to identify opportunities and create sales cases.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and AS2550.1 standards.
  • Promote health, safety, and environmental best practices while fostering a positive safety culture.


Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified in Engineering (or related discipline) with professional membership in Engineers Australia.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and other engineering tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and experience with crane design (advantageous).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.

About you:

  • AUS/NZ Trade qualified Diesel Mechanic, Automotive Electrician, Plant Mechanic or similar
  • Experience in maintaining, servicing and repairing of mobile equipment in a mining or heavy industry environment.
  • Experienced in diagnosis and fault finding in the mechanical assessment of machinery for repair, maintenance and service in the field.
  • Demonstrated skills in understanding customer support requirements.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and follow instructions
  • Team player who will adhere to and promote the Company's Values & Behaviours
  • Current drivers licence
  • Whilst not required applicants with OEM experience are highly desired
