Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

As Field Engineer - Piping, you will monitor and organize subcontractor planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders’ involvement, through the coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff.
Your field supervision will help ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Manage and support Testing, Flushing, Hydrojetting, Borescoping, Blowing /Drying, Cleanliness and Restoration activities.
  • Develop, create, review, approve and issue Pneumatic Safe Test Safety Plans, Pneumatic, Hydrostatic, Service and Visual test packages
  • Control and maintain master set of Test Package PIDs.
  • Identify, purchase, implement control and track piping test material and test equipment.
  • Conduct Pneumatic and hydrostatic pressure tests.
  • Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans pertaining to Pipe Testing and Cleanliness.
  • Ensure completed test packs are submitted to Turnover.
  • Prepare and disposition Request for Information (RFI’s), Field Change Documents (FCD’s) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and liaise with the design engineering group through to resolution.
  • Provide technical assistance to superintendents, field engineers, subcontractors, foremen, and craft workers.
  • Track and report daily testing progress and quantities.
  • Understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes, including Standard Work Process Procedures.
  • Construction site experience on Energy or Oil & Gas projects is required in Piping Pressure Testing, Drying, Hydro-jetting, Pigging, Blowing, Borescoping, Cleanliness and Restoration activities.
  • Able to work night shift and day shift when the business need arises.
  • Able to manage and support pipe testing activities at night shift independently.
