What You’ll Be Doing As a Field Engineer, you will lead preventive and corrective maintenance operations for special vehicles. This role involves planning, supervising technical teams, and ensuring timely, high-quality service delivery. You will collaborate with internal teams, clients, and contractors to maintain operational excellence and compliance with safety standards. Your Responsibilities: Collaborate with management on service and maintenance planning, including parts and tools management. Develop and implement maintenance plans to keep vehicles operational within agreed timelines. Plan manpower and resources effectively to meet monthly performance targets. Lead and supervise technical personnel, ensuring objectives and quality standards are achieved. Prepare schedules, coordinate activities, monitor progress, and report on maintenance work. Provide technical advice, diagnose issues, and recommend appropriate repairs or servicing. Respond promptly to client requests, troubleshoot problems, and implement corrective actions. Manage materials handling, tools, and equipment for maintenance operations. Liaise with clients, contractors, and relevant authorities to ensure smooth operations. Enforce safe work procedures and environmental control measures at all work sites. Create detailed work instructions and maintenance guides for workshop and field teams. Drive technical competency development for staff and contractors under your supervision. Conduct service and repair work on vehicle components beyond standard manufacturer guidelines. Assist with documentation for tenders and other assigned projects. Support on-site visits and handle ad-hoc assignments as required. Who We’re Looking For Diploma in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or equivalent Minimum 5 years’ experience in service/maintenance within the automotive industry, preferably in heavy/special vehicles and working with government agencies. Hands-on technical knowledge of vehicles and heavy vehicles. Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to adapt in a multi-tasking environment. Valid Class 4 Driving Licence. Ability to work under pressure with excellent problem-solving skills. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven with good business acumen. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
