SKILLS

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license (3 years of experience) with Q endorsement with acceptable drivers abstract
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Self motivated with a high level of accountability
  • Previous experience in producing high-quality work with maintaining a variety of heavy equipment, an asset
  • Problem-solving skills with a strong knowledge of heavy equipment systems
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Physical ability to perform hands-on tasks in various weather conditions
  • Able to understand written and verbal instructions in English
  • Use of a cell phone with the ability to be trained on multiple apps
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Responsible for the in-field routine maintenance, lubrication, and inspection on a variety of heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, rock trucks, graders, scrapers, loaders, skid steers, etc. to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge, be self-motivated and have a commitment to providing quality work.
We are willing to train a candidate with a strong mechanical knowledge, for this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work safely to ensure the safety of themselves and those around them
  • Perform scheduled lubrication, greasing and routine maintenance on heavy equipment and components
  • Conduct oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid top-ups according to service schedules
  • Inspect equipment for wear, leaks, or damage and report any potential issues to the Shop Foreman
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and suggest appropriate repair actions
  • Assist in mechanical repairs when required to minimize equipment downtime
  • Test and inspect equipment to ensure repairs are completed thoroughly
  • ·Ensure tools, equipment, and the lube truck are stocked and maintained in a clean and safe condition
  • Train operators on proper maintenance and greasing of equipment
  • Communicate with division foreman on timelines regarding downtime
  • Maintain a high housekeeping standard
