THE OPPORTUNITY Western is hiring for a Field Marketing Representative to join our Sales and Marketing team based in South/Texas.   WHAT YOU’LL DO: REPORTING TO THE DIRECTOR OF SALES – NORTH AMERICA, THE FIELD MARKETING REPRESENTATIVE WILL SERVE AS A BRAND AMBASSADOR FOR WESTERN FOREST PRODUCTS, RESPONSIBLE FOR IMPLEMENTING OUR MARKETING STRATEGY IN THE SOUTH/TEXAS REGION OF UNITED STATES (US). BASED IN THE REGION, THIS ROLE WILL BE INSTRUMENTAL IN BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN OUR BRAND AND CUSTOMERS BY COMMUNICATING THE UNIQUE VALUE PROPOSITIONS OF WESTERN AND OUR FULL SUITE OF CEDAR AND SPECIALTY PRODUCT LINES. THE ROLE WILL ENGAGE CONSISTENTLY IN THE FIELD, WITH OUR CUSTOMERS, AND THEIR CUSTOMER BASE OF CONTRACTORS AND BUILDERS, ALONG WITH SPECIFIERS AND ARCHITECTS. WORK ENVIRONMENT: THIS IS A REMOTE POSITION BASED OUT OF YOUR HOME OFFICE, WITH FREQUENT TRAVEL REQUIRED FOR CUSTOMER MEETINGS, EVENTS, AND FIELD ENGAGEMENT ACROSS THE US AND CANADA. RESPONSIBILITIES * Strategy: Working closely with the Director of Sales, the role will require execution of the strategic marketing plan for the South/Texas region.  In addition, the position will be tasked with reporting weekly and monthly on their business, for successes and on key metrics.  They will meet regularly with the sales team to gain improved understanding of key accounts and also pain points.  They will ensure that every dollar spent is tied to goals, data and successful outcomes for the business. * Marketing & Promotion: Primarily working in the field, they will engage consistently with customers to promote the ‘Western brand’ and market our cedar and specialty lumber products throughout targeted sales channels.  They will be a brand ambassador for Western, driving demand generation and sales leads.  The role will also communicate alignment of Western’s brand with our mission statement and values. They will also ensure that Western stands out through authentic engagement and by adding real value to our customers.  Activities will include trade shows, customer training events, product knowledge campaigns, regular office or field visits or other social engagements that improve Western’s brand visibility and bring us closer to our customers.  Staying close to our customers’ sales teams, and their customers sales teams will be critical. The role will also assist in scheduling market trips for the head office sales teams. * Market Analysis: Compile and compare pertinent industry market data and trends for their region.  Develop a keen understanding on pricing for both Western’s product lines, as well as alternative and competitor product lines.   Utilize market analysis to assist in pricing and positioning Western’s products in the marketplace.    * Customer Service: The role will provide exceptional customer service, meeting regularly to gain immediate feedback on service or product quality.  They will also ensure customer retention through post sales experience, activities and assess claims in the field as required and attend our weekly quality assurance meeting to provide market feedback or information from our customers’ perspectives.  The position will provide data and lead generation opportunities to our customers in order to drive sales back through the channel.   QUALIFICATIONS Education And Experience * A bachelor’s degree or post-secondary education in marketing or a marketing related field  * 3-5 Years of work experience in sales and marketing related field * Proficient use of the Microsoft suite of products  * Experience in the forest or building materials sector is beneficial  * Proficient in digital marketing tools and CRM is an asset Skills, Knowledge and Required Competencies * Highly organized and thrives in fast-paced, high-pressure environments * Frequent travel for customer meetings & events required – within US & Canada * Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong sense of initiative * Personable and engaging, with a natural ability to connect with others * Confident and effective presenter across diverse audiences * Skilled in building and nurturing professional relationships * Capable of managing multiple events, campaigns, and promotional activities simultaneously * Creative thinker with a continuous improvement mindset * Committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences * Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams * Demonstrates sound judgment, problem-solving abilities, and analytical thinking YOUR CAREER    At Western Forest Products, we believe our most significant asset is our people.
