ABOUT YOU

We are looking for an experienced Field Officer who is a motivated team member and can work independently, with the ability to prioritise multiple jobs safely, is flexible, a good communicator and forward planner with solid knowledge and a clear understanding of how an Autonomous Haul Circuit operate with focus on dump management.

To be successful you will demonstrate the following:

  • Previous experience as Haul Truck and / or other mining equipment operator would be an advantage.
Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring the Autonomous Haul Truck (AHT) circuit for hazards, conducting surveys to help build the virtual mine model, and planning dump areas for productive AHT throughout. Field Officers will commonly work in conjunction with the Mine Control, Production, Mine Services and Maintenance teams to conduct surveys to create and verify mine model accuracy, manage dump planning and maintenance, haul road maintenance and to manage AHT recoveries. The Field Officer will also assist other departments in the completion of duties where their assistance is required.

Your key responsibilities include but will not be limited to:

  • Working closely with the Operations Services Production Superintendent and Production Manager to understand key opportunities;
  • Monitoring of the physical and virtual mine model for alignment;
  • Managing the dynamic dumping plans to ensure the AHTs tip in an optimised way;
  • Surveying, planning and validating the Autonomous Truck Mining Area (ATMA) to ensure any infrastructure or hazards have been protected with virtual obstacles around them;
  • Monitoring weather and road conditions for the AHTs;
  • Putting in place controls such as Local Area Speed Limits or Mine Site Speed Limits to ensure that AHTs can operate safely and productively;
  • Responding to AHTs that have stopped by the Obstacle Detection System (ODS) and undertaking the AHT restart process if safe to do so;
  • Implementing improvement projects as necessary to improve haul cycle health and efficiency;
  • Where required, conducting AHT recoveries caused by to maintenance and operational issues.
