Description
Reporting to the Team Leader Horticulture, the Field Officer, Horticulturalist is responsible for the delivery and implementation of works aligned to the Field Services Maintenance Service Level (MSL) programs for open spaces across the city.  The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to our Corporate Values and will personally contribute to a constructive culture.  Horticulturalists hold a vital role within the team in the implementation of hands on work in the Parks Maintenance service level programs across our City.  This opportunity is a Permanent Part-time role, 0.4 FTE  Key Responsibilities:  * Maintain and enhance Council open spaces and assets through horticultural activities including weed control, planting, pruning, hedging, monitoring condition and reporting outcomes. * Work collaboratively with internal teams and departments to deliver MSL programs and contribute to continuous improvement of work practices and procedures. * Mentor and support team members, including trainees and non‑payroll personnel, fostering safe, productive and values‑driven workplaces. * Identify, assess and report workplace risks, complete required inspections and documentation, and ensure compliance with WHS procedures, organisational policies and legislative requirements. * Conduct regular inspections and pre‑operational checks of plant, equipment and public assets, reporting identified risks and issues to the Team Leader.   Position Description - Field Officer Horticulturalist  [https://www.teatreegully.sa.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0031/1972435/Position-Description-Field-Officer,-Horticulturalist-FS-CVP-review-March-23.pdf] About you:  The Successful Candidate will have:  * Certificate III in Horticulture   * Current unrestricted C-class driver’s licence * Temporary Traffic Management / Work Zone Traffic Management licence or willing to obtain * Work safely in the construction zone (White Card). * Competency in the operation of plant and equipment commonly used in Environment and Landscape/Turf Management operations. * Willingness to undergo pre-employment medical and police check    Apply today!
