ABOUT US

We are a fast-growing ISP committed to delivering high-speed internet and fiber services to communities across the region. We are looking for a hands-on and experienced Outside Plant Operations Manager to oversee all day-to-day tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Industry experience: 5+ years in ISP, telecom, or network operations, preferably with Construction, Installation & Repair experience.
Leadership experience: Prior experience managing field technicians or technical teams, preferably in a union environment.
Technical knowledge: Understanding of fiber optic networks, RF systems, outside plant construction (both underground and aerial), and network troubleshooting.
Problem-solving & decision making: ability to make operational decisions, troubleshoot technical challenges, and handle customer escalations effectively.
Communication & collaboration: strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Computer & reporting: Must be knowledgeable in computer and software systems such as the Microsoft 365 suite of products
Valid driver’s license & travel: Must be able to travel between communities as needed.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Manage training and ongoing performance management of the technician workforce, ensuring quality and safety standards are met
  • Serve as a focal point to align all outside plant teams (placers, splicers, install technician, construction teams, etc.), ensuring efficient coordination and execution of projects.
  • Work closely with Project Management to ensure project goals are met.
  • Work closely with fleet management to ensure all fleet assets are kept in excellent working condition.
  • Supervise and support field technicians, ensuring quality service installations and repairs.
  • Work closely with dispatch, customer service, and other departments to streamline operations.
  • Develop schedules, manage workloads, and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Support in warehousing and inventory management.

Network & Infrastructure Management

  • Collaborate with construction foremen to ease the installation of FTTH, both aerial and underground.
  • Oversee FTTH deployments across our service area, DOCSIS plant maintenance, and other network projects.
  • Ensure compliance with installation standards, safety protocols, and best practices.
  • Work with design, networking, & vendors to troubleshoot network issues and optimize performance.
  • Customer experience & community relations.
  • Act as a point of contact for customer escalations and service concerns.
  • Foster strong relationships with local stakeholders, including community leaders and property managers.

Budget & Procurement

  • Aid in managing budgets for labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Coordinate inventory needs and ensure technicians have the necessary supplies.
