In this role you undertake diverse day-to-day tasks relating to the application of EPA legislative responsibilities in assigned regulatory area/s involving major issues affecting the environment, and activities relating to other regulatory functional areas, as required by EPA operational priorities. ABOUT YOU The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities: * Demonstrated experience applying environmental legislation and regulatory tools in complex compliance environments * Strong investigate skills, including evidence gathering, preparing briefs, recommending enforcement action and appearing as a witness where required * Experience responding to environmental incidents and complaints, with the ability to manage changing priorities and participate in the after hours incident response * Sound knowledge of licensing, permitting and planning process and the ability to contribute to licence drafting, review and compliance activities * Well developed analytical and problem-solving skills to assess environmental performance and recommend practical, evidence based regulatory responses to improve environmental outcomes. * Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with industry, government and the community while maintaining professional and public confidence.
