This leadership role requires extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in storm water drainage construction. The successful candidate will supervise and participate in a wide range of stormwater construction and maintenance activities, including but not limited to: Drainage channel reconstruction and maintenance Installation of erosion control including vegetation, hydro-mulch, curlex and turf reinforcement mats Knowledge of MUTCD traffic control and procedures Bar ditch maintenance Proper material selection and application for various repair methods Use of computer software such as Microsoft Office, Peoplesoft and VueWorks The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of drainage channel deficiencies and deterioration, as well as proven strategies for effective repair and long-term preservation. Familiarity with Fort Worth's drainage network and common maintenance challenges is highly preferred. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED supplemented by specialized training related to assigned operations and services Four (4) years of related experience Valid driver’s license Must pass drug screen and physical Preferred Qualifications: Moderate computer skills, i.e., VueWorks, MobileVue, Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, or other software platforms Work zone safety knowledge, traffic control and/or training and Knowledge of hazardous weather conditions pertaining to Stormwater Operations Supervisory experience including experience writing employee performance appraisals The Field Operations Supervisor job responsibilities include: Prioritize scheduled and emergency work Provide direct in-field supervision of crews working on all phases of Stormwater operations. Schedule and monitor Stormwater projects and improve upon the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under his/her direction and control. Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain a safe worksite for employees and citizens. Ensure compliance of policies and procedures. Read engineering plans and blueprints. Communicate with internal and external customers. Working Conditions and Physical Demands Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting; depending on assignment. Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting and intense noises. Medium work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
