The Field Risk Director (FRD) at Kinetic Advantage is not only a guardian of the company’s financial well-being, but also a trusted advisor and change agent for our independent dealer partners across the country. This is a rare and uniquely impactful role, one that combines the responsibility of risk mitigation with the privilege of helping shape the future of our customers businesses.
As a key member of an elite, highly trained team, the FRD conducts comprehensive, on-site risk reviews that span financial analysis, operational audits, inventory verification, and fraud detection. These reviews provide an unfiltered, data-driven snapshot of a dealership’s current state, empowering Kinetic Advantage to make informed decisions about how to best manage the relationship.
This role goes far beyond identifying risk. Field Risk Directors are often the turning point in a dealership’s journey. With deep operational insight and business acumen, the FRD has the opportunity to engage directly with dealer principals and leadership teams, providing them with feedback, structure, and guidance that can drive real and lasting improvement. This role is about more than just protecting Kinetic Advantage, it’s about uplifting our partners, helping them build stronger, more profitable, and more sustainable operations.
Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Five (5) years in automotive, collections or financial services industry required
- Familiarity with concepts, procedures and processes typically used in automotive and financial services industries, particularly in the Automotive Floorplan Industry.
- Proven Track record of working independently in High-Pressure, Field-Based roles with Minimal oversight.
- Strong knowledge of Dealership operations, Inventory controls, and financial systems.
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel extensively (Up to 85%) Across the US.
- Preferred Experience in Fraud Investigations, Credit Underwriting, or asset recovery.
- Preferred Familiarity with Dealership Management Systems such as Dealertrack, Frazer, or Reynold’s & Reynold’s.

- Conflict Resolution: Skilled at navigating sensitive or challenging conversations with Composure, tact, and Professionalism- Especially during On-Site Collections or Resolution processes where Dealer emotions may be elevated.
- Adaptability: Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities, field conditions, and travel demands.
- Problem Solving: Resourceful and creative in developing solutions for high-risk or non-standard situations.
- Time Management: Able to manage multiple accounts, projects, and deadlines efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), with the ability to learn and navigate dealer management systems and internal platforms.
- Ethics & Integrity: Demonstrates the highest level of professional conduct, discretion, and accountability in all aspects of the role.
- Business Acumen: Understands how dealerships operate as businesses and can identify ways to strengthen profitability and sustainability.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to Stand, walk, and move throughout Dealership Lot locations and Facilities for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to communicate clearly
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will, at times, be subject to outside environmental conditions
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
- Must be able to Travel extensively (Up to 80% of the time), including Air Travel and Long-Distance Driving.
- Comfortable working in both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions verifying inventory.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time while travelling and/or working on a computer.
- Must be able to effectively use a Laptop, Tablet, Smartphone, and other Mobile devices for Field work and Communication.
