Description Position Summary The Field Safety Coordinator is responsible for promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture across Charlotte Mechanical’s field operations, including HVAC, plumbing, and construction service projects. This role ensures all employees, contractors, and subcontractors are working safely and in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other applicable regulations, as well as company safety policies. The coordinator serves as a key resource for field teams, ensuring hazards are minimized and projects are completed safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and enforce company safety policies and procedures tailored to HVAC, plumbing, and construction operations. Conduct regular field safety inspections, hazard assessments, and job site audits to ensure compliance. Lead safety orientations for new hires and ongoing training programs for employees and subcontractors. Provide coaching and mentorship to field staff and supervisors on best practices for safe installation, repair, and construction activities. Ensure safe handling and usage of specialized tools, ladders, lifts, refrigerants, fuels, and other field materials. Investigate and document incidents, accidents, and near-misses; recommend corrective actions and ensure follow-through. Maintain up-to-date safety records, incident logs, and OSHA/DOT compliance reports. Serve as point of contact for field teams on safety-related issues and act as a liaison with regulatory agencies. Support leadership in fostering a “safety-first” culture across all departments. Requirements Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or related field preferred. OSHA 30 certification required; OSHA 500/501 preferred. 2–4 years of field safety experience in HVAC, plumbing, construction, or mechanical contracting industry. Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and EPA safety regulations, particularly related to refrigerants, confined spaces, and fall protection. Strong communication and training skills to engage field technicians and supervisors. Ability to travel daily to multiple job sites across the Charlotte and company service areas. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management reporting tools. Key Competencies Leadership with the ability to influence safe behaviors in the field.
