The Field Sales Engineer can be located anywhere within the United States, and functions as a remote traveling type of technical solutions position. We are looking for a smart, gritty, and driven individual to drive sales in various industries across the organization. The Field Sales Engineer functions as a sales resource (internally and externally) to help convert pilots and increase sensor sales for existing customers. They support customers and sales team members as a subject matter expert on-site to work closely with plant personnel. They also support sales by hunting for new sales opportunities and acting as the key customer contact for pilots.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

This role requires up to 75% travel, primarily by air, as our customers are located throughout the United States. On average, you can expect to be away from home 6–9 days per month. A typical travel schedule may include:

  • Day 1: Travel to the customer site
  • Day 2: Support the installation and pilot of our technology
  • Day 3: Return travel

We aim to provide at least two weeks’ notice for all travel assignments. Travel expenses are covered either through a company-issued card or reimbursed in accordance with our travel and expense policy. Additionally, PPE is provided by KCF.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
  • Prior work experience in sales
  • Vibration analysis experience preferred
  • Comfortable with “hands on” nature of technical sales in an industrial environment
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Administer product trials to demonstrate KCF’s value to prospective customers.
  • Oversee the delivery of an established pilot framework.
  • Uncover prospective customer business problems and connect them to KCF solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional meetings with clients and technical stakeholders.
  • Assess rotating equipment at manufacturing facilities for optimal sensor placement and installation feasibility in preparation for a trial.
  • Demonstrate KCF sensors, software, and analysis services.
  • Develop and communicate a compelling business case to support the prospect’s transition to a long-term partnership.
